Bye Bye Blues movie storyline. Story about a WWII wife and mother who joins a local dance band to provide for family while husband at war. Romantic involvement with one of the band members make her decisions difficult when husband returns from war. Story watches the progression of the band as it grows into a popular, successful recording and touring group. Excellent music and soundtrack.
Bye Bye Blues is a 1989 Canadian film. It was written and directed by Anne Wheeler and produced by Alberta Motion Picture Development Corporation with the assistance of Allarcom Limited. Starring are Rebecca Jenkins, Luke Reilly, Michael Ontkean, Jyoti Dhembre, Chad Krowchuk, Mohan Agashe, Susan Wooldridge, Leslie Yeo, Kate Reid and Sheila Moore.
The film was nominated for twelve Genie Awards at the 11th Genie Awards in 1990, and won three: Best Actress (Jenkins), Best Supporting Actress (Stevan), and Best Original Song (“When I Sing” by Bill Henderson).
