Arrival is the first science-fiction film by director Denis Villeneuve, who has previously impressed him with every single film. Spaceships descend to twelve different regions of the world, each country to communicate with the aliens and to begin to work to understand the purpose. One of the people chosen for this work is the linguist Louise Bank (Amy Adams).

The process of communication with aliens calmly and patiently enables Louise to quickly deal with, or even establish, one-on-one relationships. For the sake of not giving spoilers, we can say that the intention of aliens is quite different from that of all countries.
