Mexican Billionaire investor Ricordo Salinas Pliego, one of the richest in Mexico, said that Banco Azteca, which he owns, could start using Bitcoin in its banking operations.
Pliego responded to the tweet of billionaire Michael Saylor, where he gave investment advice in Bitcoin, “Of course, I recommend using Bitcoin. “Me and my bank are working to be the first bank in Mexico to accept Bitcoin, if you need more details or information, follow me on Twitter.”
The wealth of the Mexican rich has increased by $2.8 billion this year to $15.8 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Pliego, which operates in the retail, banking and publishing industries, is now the third richest person in Mexico.
Banco Azteca has assets of $7.3 billion, deposits of over $5 billion and more than 20,000 employees.
