Facebook announced it is reversing its June 2018 decision to ban cryptocurrency-related ads from its platform. In a blog post, Facebook said it had “listened to feedback and assessed the policy’s effectiveness.”
The change will mean that ads related to blockchain technology, industry news, education or events related to cryptocurrency will no longer require pre-approval although it will “still require people to apply to run ads promoting cryptocurrency.”
This means the blanket ban has been reversed, although there are still restrictions in place – notably ads promoting cryptocurrency, cryptocurrency exchanges and mining software and hardware, will still have to go through a review process.
