Asterix Versus Caesar (also known in France as Astérix et la surprise de César) is a 1985 animated movie, in which the plot was adapted from two of the stories from the Asterix Comic book series – Asterix the Legionary and Asterix the Gladiator. The plot itself was written again by Goscinny along with Uderzo’s friend, Pierre Tchernia. It is the first of the Asterix films to be released in the 1980s, and the fourth animated film adaptation of the comic series, with the film being directed by Paul and Gaëtan Brizzi. The film’s theme song, Astérix est là, was composed and performed by Plastic Bertrand.
