The issue of whether the leading cryptocurrency Bitcoin can be replaced by Ethereum has always been one of the debated issues in the cryptocurrency market. So, can Ethereum surpass Bitcoin? Celsius Network CEO Alex Mashinsky thinks that Bitcoin is already starting to lose market dominance to Ethereum.
In an interview, Alex Mashinsky argued that Ethereum and Bitcoin changed roles, and Ethereum reversed the situation. According to Alex Mashinsky, he said that the fact that Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin as the world’s precious crypto money is starting to come to pass. Mashinsky stated that he thinks Ethereum will completely surpass Bitcoin in terms of market cap by 2022 or 2023.
“The roles have already changed. In terms of the Celsius community’s total wealth, Ethereum has already surpassed Bitcoin in dollar terms, and I think the broader market will follow suit over the next few years. We will see this shift become reality in the broader market.”
Alex Mashinsky touched on the differences between the key use cases between BTC and ETH. He stated that the main use of Bitcoin is as a store of value, while in ETH it is yield farming and staking applications. Saying that Yield farming has a very large user base, Mashinsky said that Ethereum will begin to be adopted more widely than Bitcoin because of this.
