Flashdance is a 1983 American romantic-dance-musical and drama youth film directed by Adrian Lyne, starring Jennifer Beals. Alexandra “Alex” Owens (Jennifer Beals) is an eighteen-year-old welder who lives with her dog Grunt in a converted warehouse in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Although he dreamed of becoming a professional dancer, he did not receive any formal dance training and works as an exotic dancer in a neighborhood bar staging cabaret nights. His biggest dream is to be admitted to a bake school, he will face various obstacles to his support from his friends.
