Amanda Seyfried ditches her golden locks and dons retro duds to play the adult film legend.
Amanda Seyfried has traded in her golden locks that made her shimmer on screen in “Mamma Mia!” and “Red Riding Hood” for a curly brunette ‘do in order to play one of the most infamous stars in movie history.
Amanda Seyfried transforms into Linda Lovelace. Cameras spotted Seyfried on location in Long Beach, CA where she was filming “Lovelace,” the film about the life of Linda Lovelace, the star of the legendary 1972 adult movie “Deep Throat.”
This new biopic will focus on the troubled relationship between Lovelace (born Linda Boreman) and her then husband Chuck Traynor, played by Peter Sarsgaard. Lovelace stated that Traynor threatened and abused her, and became a vocal opponent of pornography. She died in 2002 at the age of 53 from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Seyfried was snapped on the set stepping out of a classic red Cadillac El Dorado in a short dress, platform wedges and a long, multicolored scarf. Fans of Seyfried’s luscious blonde tresses shouldn’t worry, though. Her new brown hair is just a wig, and she was seen sporting different hair lengths for the various time periods depicted in the film.
“Lovelace” recently added Demi Moore to its cast as feminist activist Gloria Steinem. Adam Brody will be playing Lovelace’s “Deep Throat” costar Harry Reems. Sharon Stone, Chris Noth, Hank Azaria and Wes Bentley round out the cast.
Seyfried isn’t the only actress who is slated to bring Linda Lovelace’s ultimately tragic story to the big screen. Malin Akerman has been cast in a separate film entitled “Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story.” Reportedly, that project was set to star Seyfried’s “Mean Girls” costar Lindsay Lohan in the lead role but she was replaced.
This week, it was also reported that Seyfried is in negotiations to play Cosette in the movie version of the Broadway musical “Les Miserables.” She would join Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway and Taylor Swift in the film from Oscar winning director Tom Hooper (“The King’s Speech”).
