Which actor will sail on Noah’s Ark? It looks like Russell Crowe is about to begin collecting the animals two by two. Deadline reports that Oscar-winning star of “A Beautiful Mind” and “Gladiator” will play the title role in the Bible adaptation “Noah” for director Darren Aronofsky.
This is a high-profile role for Crowe, whose recent films have been a series of disappointments at the box office. His last film, 2010 of “The Next Three Days”, has only made $ 21 million of the country an estimated budget of $ 35 million. Ensuing “Robin Hood”, a production of 200 million which earned $ 105 million in the United States. Crowe is currently at work on “Les Miserables”, the film version of the Tony Award-winning musical. He will present Inspector Javert, the obsessed policeman chasing Jean Valjean, played in the film by Hugh Jackman. And before he plays Noah, it will be seen as another character faced with a disaster that threatens all life on the planet. It will be Kryptonian father Jor-El in Superman in 2013 of “Man of Steel.”
